Welcome to the Planet Ecotours
We provide friendly and personal day tours from central Auckland to Matakana, Omaha, Mahurangi, Warkworth and beaches of the Hauraki Gulf. Our full day tour costs $195 for adults and $146 for children under 12 years. We have complimentary inner city pickups and returns. On our tours you will experience the history of the area, wander through small rural towns, taste locally grown produce and touch the clean sand of our exquisite beaches. You can also plant a tree and so help re-establish the ecosystems that existed in New Zealand before human settlement.
Planet Ecotours follows two principles on our day tours.

Guests can experience what being ‘kiwi’ is all about. We will give you a taste of the joys of living in this part of NZ. We will show and explain how people settled the area, developed farms, vineyards and orchards. You will see the range of present day land use and we will explain it. You can explore the original buildings of a settler’s farm. You will mix with locals while strolling around Matakana and Omaha, two iconic places of this area. |

Guests can help protect and enhance the natural kiwi environment. Aotearoa, New Zealand, was one of the last land masses on the planet to be settled by humans. However, our impact has been significant, permanent and not always to the benefit of all who live here. For example, in Northland less than 5% of the original kauri forest remains. Much of the landscape around Auckland, Northland and the Waikato has been completely altered from what existed when people first saw Aotearoa, New Zealand. |
